History of Cider County Choppers
Last year I fancied something a little bit different.I`ve ridden all sorts of bikes over the years,some good,some downright horrible!I saw a programme called "Biker Build Off" featuring Russell Mitchell from Exile,who built a really clean minimilist Harley based trike.I was hooked.I thought about something similar,but having always owned jap bikes, wanted to use a four cylinder motor.Not knowing who to approach to help with the build,I was fortunate enough to be recommended a local welder/fabricator called Terry,who,already had a reputation as one of the best in the area.I took along all the parts I`d collected,including the donor bike frame and motor(Yamaha XJ 650).
My design brief was simple: Keep it short, Keep it minimilist, but overall, I wanted it to look like a Streetfighter with 3 wheels! So far, what has resulted, has surpassed anything I could have possibly
hoped for.There has been so much interest in the trike, that we`ve decided to set up Cider County Choppers to offer other people the chance to own something a little bit different! I`ve already got
ideas for three other trikes, all radically different from each other,and totally unique! |
